Osteoporosis in Post Menopausal Women Research Study

Serena Chong is a junior medical registrar at Concord Hospital, helping with a study of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. The study looks at relationships between estrogen, vitamin D and bone mineral density in women aged 50 to 70 after menopause. Interview subjects must not have taken vitamin supplements in the last four months, no previous treatment for osteoporosis, no recent hormonal therapy, no severe liver or kidney disease, and no cancer (except skin cancer). The study will scan bone mineral density at Concord Hospital, and take a single blood sample on the same day.
