25 Terraces, a contemporary take on Victorian terraces which once existed here CSR site where New Street once ran and which eventually became a CSR carpark.
The Terraces, designed by Richard Huxley and finished in 2000, are two-storey terrace houses, in the block bounded by Jones Street, Bowman Street and Cadigal Avenue. They are named in a gesture towards the Aboriginal inhabitants of Sydney, the Cadigal (or Gadigal) clan of the Eora people. Since smallpox devastated the inhabitants of the peninsula the year after the First Fleet, and many of the survivors fled, their identity is speculative.
