The Glebe Society invites us all to its 50th birthday events this month. Like Pyrmont and Ultimo, Glebe has a lively history of poverty and wealth, a tradition of radical politics and dramatic events. To celebrate this heritage, the Glebe Society is organising events from 24-30 June. They include Max Solling leading a history walk through Forest Lodge on Monday morning 24 June; a discussion of Radical Glebe at 7pm in The Tramsheds (Harold Park Community Hall); and on the afternoon of 25 June, come to The Tramsheds for a walk around places of worship. Later events include a walk through Glebe itself, films, and talks about Glebe Women, the Trams, Glebe’s Future, and the Mayor’s Processions. For details, visit www.glebesociety.org.au.
