Naming of the new park on the site of the Knoll

The last stage of Jacksons Landing is almost complete. Lend Lease has asked the Jacksons Landing Community Association for input into the naming of the park being built on the Knoll. We would like to canvas a wide cross section of the local community’s views. There is a lively conversation on the Jacksons Landing Community Facebook Group
As Lend Lease understands it, the naming process is broadly:
– Consult on naming options and establish preferred;
– Write to Council with a naming proposal, highly preferred and any alternatives;
– Council prepares a notice which is advertised /communicated as per its policies;
– The name resulting from this process is submitted to the Geographical Naming Board for registration (subject to their checking processes). Their website is interesting: gnb.nsw.gov.au
Consultation is via the Community Association, other Pyrmont community members and the Pyrmont History Group.
Mary Mortimer will convey to Lend Lease by the end of January all ideas emailed to her on mortimer@docmatrix.com.au or posted on the Facebook Group .
