Fishy

The State Government has appointed architects to design a new fish market. To pay for this, however, the old site will be sold for high-rise apartments.
One element missing from the plan is any reference to traffic management in an intersection notorious for congestion. An equally alarming omission is social infrastructure. The existing school (Ultimo Public) will not accommodate more children even after its proposed expansion; and it is difficult to imagine how hospitals and other services will cope with an influx of new clients and patients, unless more facilities are built.
This omission will certainly affect residents in Jacksons Landing and elsewhere in Pyrmont, so it may be time to complain to the relevant ministers and members of parliament, write a letter to the paper, or ring talkback radio.
